Facilities

The Elms Care Centre is well decorated throughout with rooms designed to give residents the sense of home comfort. The communal areas promote a safe and stimulating living environment, with the opportunity to socialise or relax as needed.

Our 34 bedrooms are arranged over two floors, with the upper floor accessible by a passenger lift. Every bedroom is fitted with a nurse call point, a profiling bed, a television and a 3 piece furniture set. Rooms can be personalised by the resident with their choice of soft furnishings. We encourage residents to bring in mementos and even furniture from home if space allows it. Some rooms have en-suite toilet facilities and all rooms are close to a bathroom. We also have an onsite laundry and always ensure that all clothes are labelled and returned clean and well pressed.

We hope that all our residents treat The Elms as their home and do our best to ensure that everyone feels at ease and comfortable in their surroundings. We strive to provide an environment where our residents can lead a fulfilling life and remain as independent as possible. To promote our ambitions, the care home offers two communal lounges, a dining room/conservatory, and a reading area with Wi-Fi and access to a computer. In addition, a tablet with internet access is available for use by all residents for video calls with family and friends. The private patio garden allows our residents to enjoy the fresh Cornish air and soak up the sunshine of the South West.

Friends and relatives are encouraged to visit as often as possible and there are no set visiting times. Accessing the care home is very easy with the visitor parking bays at the Elms Care Centre and unrestricted parking available in Grenfell Avenue.

Bath and shower services for day care users are available on request. Please allow at least 24 hours’ notice if this will be required.
