Residential Care
Residential care refers to long-term care in a residential setting other than the person’s own home. There are various residential care options depending on the needs of the individual, for example, based on their need for mobility assistance. Residential care costs are assessed prior to admission in the care home and usually include accommodation, laundry, meals, heating as well as other utlity costs are payable 4 weekly.
Nursing Care
Nursing care provides support for residents suffering from a long term illness or those recovering from an illness. Our 24 hour nursing care is overseen by registered nurses who develop, monitor and review a personal care plan for each resident depending on their medical needs. Nursing care costs will depend on the level of care required.
Respite Care
Respite care is planned or emergency temporary care provided to an individual who is not usually a permanent resident of the care home. It allows non-residents to make use of our facilities for a short period of time, while their carers enjoy some freedom and peace of mind that they are being well-looked after in a safe and social environment. This could also be an opportunity to try out the care home prior to moving in permanently.
Day Care
Our day care service allows older people, who enjoy the freedom of living in their own home, the company and support during the day and the opportunity to meet people from the local community. Our aim is to help you remain active and independent, and provide a friendly environment where you can relax, socialise and enjoy yourself whilst boosting your confidence and developing your skills through stimulating activities.

The Elms is designed to be a cosy, welcoming place where residents feel at ease. With personalised rooms, communal lounges, gardens, a dining area and opportunities for social activities, we aim to make every resident feel at home while maintaining dignity, independence and well-being.
Residents enjoy well-appointed single bedrooms with nurse call points, communal lounges, a dining conservatory, private patio garden, Wi-Fi access, laundry services and support for video calls with family — all designed to enhance daily life and comfort.
Before admission, a detailed pre-admission assessment is completed to understand individual needs. This information helps our nursing and care team craft a tailored care plan that’s regularly reviewed so support evolves with each resident’s changing requirements.
The Elms is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator for health and social care in England, ensuring standards of quality, safety and dignity are upheld for all residents.
A full programme of activities encourages engagement and wellbeing, including live music, quizzes, arts and games, community excursions and regular social events — all tailored to residents’ interests and abilities. For residents unable to leave their room our activities team carry out one to one chats and activities.
